(and her mother’s keen observance), had been detected very early in its development. Christina’s oncologist decided quickly that the tumor had to go!
On February 27th a team of top doctors from Phoenix Children’s Hospital removed the tumor during a very successful surgery. All diagnosis of the tumor after the operation concluded that the cancer had not reached an “amplified” (aggressive) state before it was removed, so no chemotherapy or radiation was necessary after the procedure. It could be said that such absolute success against such a tough disease as cancer makes the results seem almost miraculous.
The doctors will be keeping an eye on Christina through follow-up tests, but hopefully the cancer is completely gone for good… only twelve days after it was first discovered!
The Rest of the Story
The brief description above of little Christina’s two week “discovery – to surgery – to post procedure testing” is very incomplete because “The Rest of the Story” involves hundreds of people like you who made the commitment to pray for Christina. From around the U.S. and across the seas, e-mails and phone calls rapidly assembled a mighty body of intercessors whose prayers poured out a wave of graces over Christina and all those caring for her. The remarkable success of Christina’s medical procedures and care throughout the process are clear evidence of the enormous power of intercessory prayer! Thank you to everyone who championed Christina’s cause and made such a great difference in her life!
A Special Request for Christina
Since Christina is too young to have any lasting memories of this event -- where a significant physical menace was overwhelmed by the awesome grace of God -- we are hoping that you will let her know how you prayed for her and / or how her successful battle against this awful tumor impacted you or someone that you know. We will assemble a scrapbook for Christina with all of your notes and stories that you send us so that she can have it for the rest of her life.
You can send your note to Christina by clicking here.
Thank you and God bless you!
